KCHS ELA Teachers receive South Central Community Foundation Grant

In the Fall of 2023, Mrs. McMurry and Mr. Ballard implemented a new era of ELA course offerings at Kiowa County High School. These courses moved away from the traditional freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes to provide more options for our students and allow for mixed grade-level classes. A few of the new course titles include Holocaust Literature, Dystopian Literature, Research and Writing, Grammar and Language, Fictional Literature, and Literary Film Analysis. 

Many thanks to the South Central Community Foundation for their generous grant of $2000 that has helped Mrs. McMurry and Mr. Ballard purchase a new online curriculum for their new Research and Writing courses and books for their other ELA courses. This grant will give our students access to a larger variety of regional and world literature and give their instructors more options for training them to do ethical research and writing.
